Steve Irwin
1962-2006
I think I speak
for many when I say that Steve Irwin was much more
than a "Crocodile Hunter" or "that crazy snake guy"
as so many of my friends have called him in the
past. Steve was adored by millions of fans
worldwide.
His untimely
death was a devastating blow to the reptile
community and he will be sorely missed.
In honor of
everything Steve has done to change the way the
world looks at reptiles, we have decided to devote this page on our website
to the biggest icon in the reptile community.
A man who
spent every waking minute doing what he loved most.
Steve's passing has shocked the world but his
legacy lives on.
There has been a
great deal of media attention regarding this tragedy
with many sources focusing on how he died, how
this could have been prevented, how this was bound
to happen, etc. We are not going to relive all
of that here. Steve died doing what he loved doing
the most, interacting with some of nature's most
fascinating creatures.
This page is
simply a tribute to a big kid whose love for
reptiles and dedication and passion will be fondly
remembered for generations to come.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his friends and
family. You are always in our hearts.
Contributions can
be made in Steve's Honor to
Wildlife Warriors, a charity committed to the
conservation and rehabilitation of wildlife and
their habitat. |
